Your ruler the Sun never retrogrades. Neither does your planet of insight and spiritual truth – the Moon. However, both are always entangled in an eclipse. Which is why you should always avoid big decisions and adopt a ‘wait and see’ approach in the days immediately before or after one. No matter whether this is a solar or lunar eclipse.

We have a shift in the eclipse axis this year with the Nodes moving from Aries/Libra to Pisces/Virgo. And four heavy weight planets changing signs – Jupiter in Cancer, Saturn and Neptune in Aries, and Uranus in Gemini. First – let’s look at how this year’s retrogrades will impact you in what is going to be a year to reach for the stars, Leo!

When it comes to retrogrades, it’s always useful to know what area of life the backwards planet rules in our charts. We begin 2025 in major retrograde weather. And the general retro rules apply to all signs. But your specific areas with the retro ‘Pause’ button pressed are around studies (revise and don’t cut corners), long distance travel and all kinds of foreign affairs, the law, the mass media and your career and reputation.

Eclipse Alert!

The North Node enters Pisces and your 8^th on Jan 12. Which puts the south in Virgo and your 2^nd. This is about money and also empowerment. You’ll look to where you have underestimated your own power. Or given it away. In either situation – you’ll be taking it back.

With the shift of the Nodes comes the shift to the eclipse axis as I mentioned earlier. We have one more eclipse on the old axis which takes place in Aries and your 9^th on March 29. This is a partial solar eclipse. Avoid big decisions and rushing in where angels fear to tread. Take extra time and do your due diligence if travelling as this is your house of long haul travel. Hold off on anything from big plans to making big statements online. In other words – treat this like a Mercury retro on steroids. And approach it from the mindset of ‘What don’t I know?’.

If something’s on your mind – the start of the year is when you’ll say it. Or take action. And this is no New Year’s resolution that fizzles out two weeks later. You mean it and will back it up with appropriate follow-through during Mars’ retro in your 11^th.

Goals get a reinjection of intent. Or you discard old for new. But your focus and determination to reach them remains unwavering. Just be aware that friendships and other contacts will be tested during this time. Most will survive but some won’t. Those that don’t – well, if you look back you’ll see the writing has been on the wall for some time. So this should come as no surprise. Anything that ends or falls away is linked to the big theme of 2025 for you – and that is healthy choices, Virgo. You’ll go for what does you good this year. And ditch what no longer does.

Retroactive Periods

Let’s start with your go slows, no gos and green lights for ‘25. The dates when ruler Mercury retrogrades or is in pre or post shadow. January 1 sees Mercury clear post-shade in Sagittarius and your 4^th house of home, family and security. This gives a green light to career moves as well as property matters and physical moves as Mercury rules Gemini and your 10^th house as well as your own sign.

You are the last sign I need to repeat the Retro Rules to. But from Feb 28^th, you need to slow down and pay extra attention to love and partnership matters. You not only have Mercury retrograde in Pisces and your 7^th house, but this also coincides with a Venus retrograde across your 8th/7th houses and an eclipse in your sign on March 14.

2025 delivers love karma. As in it comes full circle. And you can begin to create the kind that’s sparkly and new if you’re single. Or find yourself single. The North Node exits Aries and your 8^th on Jan 12 and enters Pisces and your 7^th. Which puts the South Node now in your sign.

Do check your chart for factors at 29 degrees. Especially in your own sign or your opposite number Pisces. If you have them, you will not be able to ignore the direction destiny is taking you in. If you are old enough, look back to when the North Node was last in this sector of your chart. June 2007 to December 2007. December 1987 to May 1989. April 1969 to November 1970. And so on.

The Nodes spend approximately 18 months in each sign. And return to it once every 18-19 years. If you were either close to adulthood or 18 and over during these dates, look back at what started or ended during these cycles. You’ll arrive at a pivot point again this time around.

Inescapable love truths or the trajectory your relationship is taking should be undeniable around Feb 7 when Neptune and the North Node meet. Watch for events and encounters over the upcoming weeks as the Sun (Feb 19) and then a new Moon (Feb 28) appear in here. Blissful, beautiful fate could deliver that mate for singles. Others take their union to the next level. The timing along with the stars, is aligned. Prepare for a turning point. But keep in mind there will be no holding on to something which has no future. Or a union which is kept afloat by delusion and denial. Expect big decisions between now and the end of April.

Money money money

Venus retrograde takes place between March 2 and April 13. Across your 8th/7th houses. Venus rules your money and values as it rules Libra and your 2^nd house. As well as Taurus and your 9^th. Being a retro boss, this tells you to keep a tight grip on your purse strings. Avoid unnecessary spending. And unless you feel the hand of fate – hold off on seeking a new love. And even if one turns up – take things very slowly and stick to the getting to know you phase until Venus is out of retroshadow.

Keep connected to your core values during this time. And do understand that they are the foundation for success and longevity in any partnership. Be it a romantic one or a working relationship. You and another must be on the same page with what you both would never compromise or sell out over.

Put a Ring on It

Finances and big commitments continue to be in focus for you with the big shifts from your 7^th to your 8^th house of shared assets and resources. This house governs marital assets – as in your joint account, mortgage home etc. As well as loans (shared by the bank with you), benefits, legacies and payouts.

Neptune enters Aries and your 8^th on March 30. Saturn on May 25. You are going to take a more serious and considered approach to your money. You may take on extra financial responsibilities now – especially if they involve a partner. Such as a loan or mortgage for instance. But you’ll only do so if you are confident in your ability to meet your payments.

Others may receive a payout due to something coming to an end. If so, do invest this for your future rather than just spending it. There will also be no escaping the reality of your financial situation. You’ve seen how Saturn can bring you down to earth with no cushioning in relationships. The same applies to debts or simply you failing to keep track of where the money goes. There has to be an accounting with Saturn in your 8^th. Don’t be afraid to get professional advice if needed. And by the way – this all forms part of those healthy choices you’re making this year.

You’re also no longer in the mood for wasting time. If you are uncertain where a relationship is going, you won’t shy away from asking the other party what they want. Or asking they now step up. Healthy you is empowered you. And time is the one resource you know you can’t afford to waste.

Make a Wish – No, Make Three!

We have two other major shifts to cover. Both touch on your goals, dreams and ambitions. And how you see your future unfolding.

June 9 sees Jupiter leave Gemini and your 10^th for Cancer and your 11^th house. Jupiter in your 11^th is your fat fairy godmother. Frock up and if you have not already done so, make three wishes. Or if you already have a goals list – highlight the three most important ones. Between now and Jupiter leaving this house mid-2026, you can expect at least one of your goals to manifest. Possibly more than one. Jupiter never does things by half-measure. It’s known for its bountiful excess.

There is a caveat attached to this. And that is you can’t just sit on your couch waiting for the astral equivalent of Deliveroo to bring you what you ordered. I mentioned earlier you have two destiny cycles when it comes to partnerships and lasting love choices this year. The first at the start of the year. The second as the planets begin to move into your sign. Beginning with Mars on June 7. This will be an extra long cycle for you due to the retrograde weather earlier this year. Venus’s late arrival in your sign along with Mars’ early one extends your partnership peak by almost two months.

Plus – 2025 hands you not one but two new beginnings as you have not one but two new Moons in your sign during your birthday cycle. The first takes place on August 23 – one day after the Sun’s arrival. The second – a new ‘Black’ Moon, on Sept 21.

You also have two eclipses occurring during your birthday cycle. Sept 7 brings a total lunar eclipse in Pisces opposition your ruler Mercury now in your sign. The second – a partial solar eclipse opposition Saturn which has now returned to Pisces occurs with the new ‘Black’ Moon on Sept 21. A ‘Black’ Moon isn’t named because of an eclipse. It simply refers to the second of two new Moons in a solar cycle. So, this is the close of one cycle of relating and a new beginning to follow. But you cannot see it yet. Take it that destiny is in control now. Anything unhealthy or not good for you will fall away. Like the slow emergence of the new, it may only be when you look back that you realise this was when the door finally closed. Take it under an eclipse hindsight truly is 20/20.

The scrying game – the practice of scrying as in looking at a mirror or flat surface (sometimes black obsidian) to see images or glimpses of the future, may take a new form under these Moons. You begin the year with your planet of marriage and lasting love retrograde in Cancer and your 10^th house. Ruler Venus will also retrograde in your 7^th on March 7. Which also coincides with a Mercury retrograde in here and an eclipse. Push the pause button on seeking new love (if something lasting is your goal), money matters as well as your career until the start of April if you can.

If this simply isn’t realistic – take things slow. This year overall hands you a barrier breaking momentum you’ve never experienced before. Where intension and desire fuse and hand you the fuel to live your passion. And you break free of restrictions for good. So – don’t be impatient or give in to FOMO. You have time very much on your side. And you’re not.

All this retro energy can combine to redeliver lost opportunities or someone from your past however. Do look to March 11 and 23 for reappearances. In between these two dates which involve ruler Venus retrograde, we have a total lunar eclipse in your 12^th house. And another coming up in your 7^th. I will talk more about eclipses and their impact on your shortly. But take it this combination can point to a redelivery or reappearance. Opportunity lost can resurface for you.

The heavy retro weather will also have you looking at what you want. And shedding what you don’t. This may happen in two ways – you reach the decision that something is not for you any longer. And move in another direction. Or it simply organically falls away with no effort required on your part. And funny thing is – it’s no loss even if you didn’t consciously make it happen. You simply shrug and feel lighter. Which is all you need to understand the time had come.

2025 sees four major planets change signs. And also the Nodes. Neptune and Saturn begin their shift from Pisces and your 6^th into Aries and your 7^th. Jupiter moves from your 9^th to Cancer and your 10^th. And Uranus from Taurus and your 8^th to Gemini and your 9^th. So for you, the houses in focus are your 7^th, 9^th and 10^th. As well as the 6th/12th house axis.

The Answer is 42!

In Douglas Adams’ The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy the answer to the big question of life, the universe and everything was 42. Which of course – makes no sense. Because the question wasn’t phrased correctly. Just keep this in mind as the Nodes change signs from Aries and your 7^th and your 1^st house, to the North Node in Pisces and your 6^th. And the South in Virgo and your 12^th on Jan 12.

The Nodes spend approximately 18 months in each sign. So, they take 18-19 years to complete a full circuit of our charts. Some of you will be experiencing the Nodes in these houses in your chart for the first time as adults. For others – this may be the second or third time. The Nodes are the pointers of destiny or fate. To understand what karmic themes they are serving, we can look back at when they were last in a particular sign. The North Node was in Pisces in the following years: June 2006 – Dec 2007, Dec 1987 – May 1989, April 1969 – Nov 1970.

The Nodes show us karma, our path and destiny. This is to do with what you do – work and dharma, purpose and meaning, self-care, studies and pets if you have them. If you can recall what happened the last time the Nodes were in here – this gives you a clue at to what you may be completing, releasing and beginning again this time around.

Back to the question – and answer. Intuition will give you the answer with the South Node in your 12^th. But you need to ask the right question. Or phrase it correctly. This is about gaining the insight to do things differently. And release old karma or hurtful patterns by doing so. ‘What do I need to know or understand about such and such?’ ‘How can I do things differently?’ ‘What approach can I take to gain greater insight?’ – this is how you get your answers, Libra. Especially when it comes to work, wellbeing and aligning mind, body and spirit for greater harmony.

When the Nodes change signs, the eclipse axis also shifts. So, we now see eclipses happening in Pisces and Virgo instead of your sign and your opposite one of Aries. We have one final eclipse in Aries in March which I will go into at the end of this section.

The Eternal Flame

Work with meaning. And mindfulness. The eternal flame is a symbol of your devotion. And tells you that even the everyday and mundane has luminance. Focus on where you are in the moment and what you are doing. Give this 100% of your attention. This is spiritual devotion. This is the power of single tasking. It is your Kung Fu now. And it is powerful. This will serve you well when you are unsure as to what to do next or you have too many options available. Especially under eclipses in these houses which I will go into next.

29 Mar – Partial Solar Eclipse in Aries (7^th)

The final eclipse in Aries and your 7^th is a start and then a stop again in a relationship or partnership dynamic. Remember – there’s something you don’t know – yet.

The eclipses on your 12th/6th axis will bring insights and answers. But you need to wait (remember – the power of single tasking or focus), and look deeper. And do ask the right question. This cycle will bring you work with real meaning, better habits, propel you out of any ruts. And also if you are open, other worlds and dimensions will reveal themselves. Start Spreading the News

Jupiter breezes into Cancer (June 9) and is about to put right a long standing situation around your career, your living arrangements, home or a family matter. If you have been held back or held in place, restricted, confined or not received the rewards you hoped for – those days are done.

The only way is up when it comes to your ambitions (professional and personal), your studies, what you seek to establish for yourself, travel which is connected to your path or profession and attracting the recognition and kudos you deserve.

This is your house of public image and reputation. Do craft this accordingly. If dressing for success isn’t your style how about simply looking the part for the role you see yourself occupying? Jupiter in here should offer big breaks, a helping hand up the ladder of success and even hand you fame or accolades. You may receive that promotion or dream role. Your own business takes off. Others may enjoy the backing of that mentor, generous employer or even angel investor.

Your best dates to make that move are June 25 which sees the new Moon in here conjunct Jupiter. And then August 12 when ruler Venus and Jupiter perform a sublime, success setting dance in here. Expect to move on up and into something better thanks to a beneficial status change.

Jupiter may have moved out of your 9^th – but Uranus moves in on July 7. Uranus is your planet of romance, creativity, attraction, conception, babies and those younger than you. Uranus knows what you need possibly before you even know yourself. It’s concerned with your freedom and evolution. Uranus’ ability to surprise, astound and even shock us is always in our best interests. Even if we may not see it at the time.

Wants and needs are two entirely different things. Uranus understands this. Again, better than we may understand ourselves. So, be open to what it delivers. With Jupiter which rules your online life, projects, plans and communications in your sector of career, and Uranus in your 9^th of the internet and mass media, this is no time to just sit on those ideas. Put a Ring on It

Pluto in Aquarius and your 5^th of romance and attraction, is now in residence until 2043. It brings with it a desire for things to be very different for you than they have been in the past. If you become a parent during this cycle, you may have radically different ideas to how you raise your own children than your upbringing for instance.

This desire for something different, will also extend to how you express yourself and yes, for singles who are seeking, this includes being open to someone very different to who you have chosen in the past. By the time Jupiter reaches your 10^th, you’re in the mind for something not just different – but serious.

This reflects the move of both Neptune (Mar 30) and Saturn (May 25) from Pisces and your 6^th into Aries and your 7^th this year. They will not settled in until 2026 when they will have their fated moment of truth. However, they will be extremely close to one another. Deep down inside you, you long to shine and stand out at something. You are the dark horse of the zodiac. Rather than the wild ponies in your next door sign of Sagittarius. Satisfaction and recognition are your secret desires. And the secret to succeeding for you – accessing your superpower.

You may already know what this is, Scorpio. But if you’ve yet to discover it, then 2025 is when you will get your ‘I am Iron Man’ moment. Strangely enough, ancient ruler Mars retrograde in your 10^th and crossing into your 9^th can lead you to access your full potential. By the time Mars is clear of retroshadow by mid-April, you’ll not only know what it is – you’ll work it like a superhero.

You are one of the few signs with two rulers. The other two being Aquarius and Pisces. Mars will power ahead again in your 9^th from Feb 24. Although you may be lacking your full confidence, impulsion and that signature certainty and empowerment until mid-April. You also have a second retrograde you need to be mindful of. Venus will retrograde in your 6^th from 2 March and then re-enter Pisces and your 5^th on March 27. It will head direct in Pisces on April 13.

Go Directly To The Need

Venus rules two sectors of your chart. Taurus and your 7^th of long term loves, marriage and partners. And Libra and your 12^th of spirituality, secrets and intuition. When a planet is retrograde, then what it rules slows or is literally ‘off the table’ during that time. Or if we begin something, we discover that it doesn’t work out once the planet heads direct again. So, if you’re seeking a new relationship and want something lasting, put this on hold during a Venus retro cycle.

Venus also rules your money and cash. You can end up buying things you don’t need under a Venus retro. Usually to full an emotional hole. Or you quickly fall out of love with that ‘must have’ item when Venus is direct once more. Use this retro Venus energy to get to the heart of that real need that is driving your spending instead. The motto: Go directly to the need applies under a Venus retro.

It’s not that your intuition is off. It’s just that you may misinterpret or ignore what its saying. There is one exception to this. It should be 100% spot on accurate in the final days of March. When retro Venus reverses into Pisces and your 5^th, and Neptune direct crosses from your 5^th to your 6^th – and both cross paths. You’ve Got to Have a Dream

Don’t get hung up on 2025’s slow start. You’re going further this year, breaking down barriers that have held you back as opportunities, solutions and new people and experiences rush in.

From mid-April onwards, planetary moves more than make up for any delays at the beginning of the year. It’s time to dream big, set new, limitless and breathtaking goals, update that bucket list and prepare for new experiences. As the classic Rodgers & Hammerstein song tells us: If you don’t have a dream – how you gonna have a dream come true?

Upgrade that dream under the shift of the North Node into your 5^th (Jan 12) and Jupiter’s entry into your 9^th (June 9). Babies, children, parenting, co-parenting, the lover who comes with children as a package deal or with whom you could become a parent if that is your desire, may feature. Also look back on the dates above if you were old enough at the time and look to whether children featured in some way. This can also bring about key events in the lives of your adult children if you have them with you becoming a grandparent or a friend could ask you to become a godparent.

Stay Grounded – Don’t Drift

Healthy choices around friendships, love and your support system are ushered in with the change in the eclipse axis and also the move of Saturn and Neptune into Aries and your 6^th.

Retrace your steps, examine your routine and look to your habits with the final eclipse in Aries and your 6^th on March 29. The following day (Mar 30) Neptune arrives in here. Saturn will join it from May 25. Be totally present in the moment. Don’t multitask. Be profoundly and singularly focussed on one task. And then when that’s done, move on to the next.

Uranus’s final months in your 7^th coincide with the Sun and other planets moving through here.
