Author Fay Weldon told Radio 4 listeners about the paranormal abilities she has had since childhood during a guest slot on Desert Island Discs on Sunday.
She reported that she first saw figures around her bed when she was very young that she realised were ghosts. She also talked about being able to sense people’s thoughts and feelings, which she acknowledges has helped her in her writing, even though she has found such an ability an uncomfortable experience at times.
A flash of insight she experienced whilst travelling on a bus to a party also foretold her meeting the man who became her second husband.
This is the first time that the much loved author has spoken about the subject. The revelation has made headline news. Fay Weldon is a Catholic and has written about the importance of a spiritual faith.
