Monthly Astrology Forecast For All Signs July 2018

Aries

• Don’t ignore the signs of change

Remember as this month unfolds what the Buddhism tells us which is life is but a dream or an illusion. The reason I am reminding you of this first up, Aries is that we are in major retrograde weather this month and your ruler Mars is one of the planets that is retrograde all month. We do have Jupiter heading direct again in your powerful 8^th from the 10^th but we also have Mercury turning retrograde from the 26^th in your 5^th. So, we have a brief window where we have four planets retrograde but then we are back to five once more.

Why the reference to Buddhist teaching? Well, planets do not move backwards. A retrograde is something we experience from our earth-bound perspective. And Buddhism says we experience the dream of life from our bodily (earth bound) perspective too. So, it’s all an illusion even when it feels all-too-real. Such as when a Mercury Retrograde causes that train cancellation which results in us being late for that all-important meeting for example. It’s pretty difficult to write this off as being just a dream. But dream or reality, what matters is how we view and deal with, what comes our way during retrograde weather. So just bear all of this in mind.

There’s a lot of past stuff, a lot of things being obscured and a lot we don’t know about yet to deal with this month. Change your perspective on it and above all, wait to take action. Now, normally being the sign of individuation, this would be difficult to resist doing. However, here’s where Mars retro helps you. You’re not lacking in impulsion. You’re waiting for the bigger picture to emerge. Some of this may be revealed when the Sun makes a positive angle to Neptune around the 8^th. There’s more to come however especially if it involves you and another – or anything you share with someone. Certainly wait until after the 10^th when Jupiter shifts to forward motion once more. And if this involves anything around negotiating anything from a salary increase, loan arrangement, mortgage, agreement, joint account or finances, if you can wait until mid-month when Venus in your 6^th trines Uranus in your 2^nd, you’ll find taking a different approach really pays off.

For the first three weeks of this month you have the Sun in your 4^th which is all about your sense of family and place. Look to your home and lifestyle. To what sustains and supports you. Your living space and living arrangements. Focus on ways to get more enjoyment from your home. This is an excellent time to renovate or decorate and also to open up your home and entertain family and friends. There’s a feeling of having to take care of some housekeeping business on a family or personal level too. Perhaps around something you have been avoiding. The Sun in here highlights what this is around the 8^th when it illuminates Neptune in your 12^th. Don’t ignore this and also if radical changes around where you live need to be made, start to put the wheels in motion. This month’s new Moon occurs in this, the Moon’s ruling house. What is more, this coincides with an eclipse in here plus this Moon will oppose Pluto in your 10^th and trine that Neptune in your 12^th.If deep down you know changes need to be made or a move has to be done – don’t ignore the signs. Change will arrive whether you initiate it – or not.

When it comes to your career this does not necessarily mean the changes are not positive ones. Not only will Jupiter direct once again in your sector of shared wealth put you back in the driver’s seat when it comes to negotiating or directing those resources, Venus in your 6^th of work will trine newly arrived Uranus in Venus’s ruling 2^nd (12^th), Saturn in your 10^th on the 12^th and Pluto on the 28^th making these power days for career and financial progress.

Mercury increases the retrograde weather from the 26^th but there is one aspect of all this emphasis on looking backwards which may be to your benefit. Retrograde ruler Mars will oppose the North Node in your 5^th on the 18^th and this may result in a second chance opportunity reappearing. If you have any regrets – don’t let it slip through your fingers a second time.

An important eclipse occurs at the end of the month with the full Moon in your 11^th which also has the Sun opposing that Mars from your 5^th. Again, this could well bring up something or someone from the past with whom there are deep emotions involved. This could even revolve around a deeply desired goal. Watch and wait here as eclipses initially conceal something. Perhaps someone’s feelings or motivations. Remember what I said at the start of this forecast about it all being an illusion? Take care you don’t project one onto someone or a situation that is later revealed to be not quite what you thought. Retrograde Mars puts passion on a slow burn so allow for that to build in any new relationship. And allow people and situations time to reveal what they are really all about. What is in the shadows may not be what you think.  And that cuts both ways. It could turn out to be even better. But only time will tell and that’s your gift to take this July.

There’s an old saying that people don’t know what they want until they see it. Or we could substitute ‘want’ for ‘need’ here. More to the point, you may not have known what it is you were missing until well, it turned up. To get all Carly Rae Jepsen – Before you came into my life I missed you so bad. Well, you may or may not have. Because very often we are totally unaware of what we are missing or what is missing until we are confronted with it. Chances are you have spent the past seven years not realising this Taurus. But July could show you exactly what it is you’ve been missing – or missing out on.

Ready for revelations? Ruler Venus shines in your 5^th from the 10^th while this day also sees Jupiter head direct again in your partnership sector. The moment of realisation could come as early as two days later when for the first time in your lifetime your ruler will trine the newly arrived Uranus in your 1^st. Suddenly you’re wide awake and not caught up in a dream any more that has made you buy into a substitution instead of the real thing. Of course, if you have the real thing, you’ll know that too. But if not, you’ll now recognise what it is that you’ve been missing. For some of you this may occur right when it presents itself. Or an event highlights the fact you’ve known it for a while but put off taking any action to rectify matters. Settling instead for that substation. That ‘semi-okay’ choice that actually isn’t a choice but a cop-out.  As Venus moves through your 5^th to trine first Saturn and then Pluto in your 9^th, not doing something about it is no longer an option. You’ll choose freedom and whatever (who whoever) it is you’ve been missing. This July could just fill that void in your life which you had no idea existed until now.

This month brings us all two important eclipses. The first appears in your 3^rd of ideas, commerce and communication on the 13^th which is the day of the new Moon in here.  This is a partial Solar eclipse and please remember eclipses always conceal. Someone may not be giving you all the information in other words. You are being ‘kept in the dark’ over something and quite possibly, deliberately as between the two eclipses ruler Venus will oppose Neptune which rules secrets. Trust above all not what people are saying but what your gut instincts or intuition is telling you. As the shadow of one eclipse cycle moves off, the truth tends to come out. This can be a slow process but this does not stop you doing your own investigating or following those nudges from your intuition. Also, as this eclipse occurs in your house of ideas, please guard these carefully.  A friend of mine once had a co-worker attempt to pass off her idea as their own under an eclipse in her 3^rd. She only discovered this as the shadow of the eclipse passed and an email send by the co-worker to the directors of the company came to light. Yes, astrology can work that literally. And it can also show us where to be on high alert if need be.

The 22^nd sees the Sun exit your 3^rd and shine a light fair and square on your living space, family arrangements and home matters for the coming month. It will also make a tight angle to Uranus for the first time from here while Mercury also in your 4^th will turn retrograde in here from the 26^th. There is major retrograde weather happening in the sky still despite Jupiter now in forward motion. Most of the month will see five planets retrograde and you are one of the fortunate signs as of course, your ruler remains direct. You may now look at what is missing or lacking in your living arrangements. Do you need more space? Remember, all retrogrades rule ‘re’ words so this is an excellent time to redecorate or renovate. Just remember, Mercury rules contracts so unless you absolutely, positively cannot help it, try not to sign contracts, leases or other agreements until Mercury has moved forward again. Re-mortgaging or re-financing is fine however. As is moving ahead with a purchase or a lease on a property that previously fell through but is now back on the market again. ‘Re’ words also include rejuvenation. What you need in terms of living space and lifestyle may also be subject to change and again, you may not be aware of what it is that you have been simply ‘settling’ for until an outside event shows you that. The same can be said for your career now. The next powerful eclipse takes place on the 27^th when we have a total eclipse of the full Moon in your sector of reputation and rewards. This also sees the Sun in your 4^th oppose retrograde Mars planet of action in here. What you are being kept in the dark about could well revolve around company politics. Or perhaps deep down you know you have gone as far as you can in your present job but have put off doing anything about finding something new. Something has been brewing for some time. Either your desire to move on or within the company itself. This could involve the person at the top but trickle down to you. What I can tell you is that if this is the case, the writing has been on the wall before and you can no longer ignore it. When the Sun is obscured by the Moon as in a solar eclipse, we can say you are quite literally ‘in the dark’ about something. And this applies 12-fold when the eclipse occurs in your 12^th house. Eclipses always conceal yet ‘Where there is darkness there is light’. The eclipse of the 13^th sees the Sun oppose Pluto and trine Neptune – the planet which rules your 12^th. We are now in major retrograde weather which is going to last right the way through until the end of August and for some signs continue even on after that. The July/August cycle will affect you more than most however as during this time ruler Mercury will join the backwards motion across the sky and at its peak, we will see a total of six planets retrograde. This coincides with the time Mercury moves backwards from July 26 until August 19 in your mysterious 12^th house.

For all of us, this extreme retrograde weather is going to be about looking backwards to look forwards again. But for you as your ruler is retrograde in your 12^th, the past is going to play even more of a pivotal role. This July sees you released from any elements of your past which have been trapping you or holding you back. Also from anything that may just not be good for you on any level be it emotionally, physically or spiritually. Some of this you may initiate yourself as the past comes clearly into focus in a way it has not done before. Some of it however may happen of its own accord. When we have the Sun and other planets in our 12^th house – which always occurs just before our birthday each year, and if this occurs during a retrograde cycle, it’s important to maintain a universal outlook on events. Understand your energy may be at a peak and there may even be times when you lose that signature Virgo cool. Having your buttons pushed is another hallmark of this cycle. This is your house of hidden enemies after all. Dates to watch out for are the 4^th and 5^th when Mercury still direct at this point meets the North Node in your 12^th and opposes retrograde Mars in your 6^th. The 9^th when Mercury squares Jupiter in your 3^rd and the 25^th when the Sun makes a square to the newly arrived Uranus in your 9^th. Expect to be set free at this point.

As well as farewells to something – anything from a situation to a self-sabotaging thought, expect some ‘Hello again!’ moments to occur too. People from your past are likely to resurface when we have a 12^th house transit or in extreme retrograde weather. Because this ‘look back to go forward’ cycle affects you more than other signs, if people from your past do reappear please take all the time you need to consider whether you want to revive the connection or not. This especially applies to anyone you know who seems to be trapped in any kind of cycle. Who stumbles from crisis to crisis but who never changes or acknowledges their part in it. Actually plenty to replace the lived out and worn-out as Venus in your 1^st from the 10^th gives you a head start on your new cycle and with her arrival ushers in attraction, romance and pleasure! It’s time to express yourself, your desires and your feelings. Your creativity receives a boost and you may extend this to a creative make-over or updating your appearance. It’s time to begin to show the world a whole new you. No matter what you are feeling (and this goes back to your energy being at its peak), don’t repress it. This applies to anything you want to say, do or go to. If you do nothing, what you will find is the energy of Venus in here turns inwards instead of shining out like a beacon. So, desire becomes frustration, love turns into if not hate then at the very least dislike, and creativity morphs into destruction. Venus in here is all about keeping that energy free-flowing.

This could bring about an encounter with someone towards whom you feel a magnetic, past-life pull. The spiritual connection may also be strong but do bear in mind that eclipses conceal. We have a second eclipse of the full Moon happening on the 27^th in your 6^th of all things Virgo-ruled. This is a total lunar eclipse so the full Moon will be completely covered by the Earth’s shadow as the Earth moves between the Moon and the Sun. So, it’s easy to see the ‘covered up’ metaphor here. This of course means the Earth opposes the Sun in your 12^th while the Sun also opposes retrograde Mars in your 6^th at the same time. Something is going to emerge from this eclipse that has been hidden or concealed from you. It could well revolve around your wellbeing or your work (paid or unpaid). Look closely again at where your energy is free-flowing and where you may be repressing it by not expressing what you feel or what you feel you should do. What effect is this having on you mentally, physically and spiritually? When you think about a person or a situation are you energised or drained? The starting point of discovering what this eclipse wants to show you is to follow the positive flow of the energy. Chiron is a recent arrival in your 7^th having entered here in April. The beginning of July sees it station at 2 degrees of Aries and then begin a retrograde cycle which will end in December and see the dwarf planet of muses, music and healing head back into your 6^th again.  It will return to your 7^th in the third week of February 2019. If music be the food of love – play on. We are in major retrograde weather now. Jupiter in your money house heads direct again this month from the 10^th. However, we will see Mercury make one of its regular retrogrades in your 11^th from the 26^th. If we add Chiron into the mix, next month sees the retrograde cycle peak with a total of seven planetary bodies all heading backwards at once. We are all asked to look back to evolve and leap forward again once this cycle ends. Be warned however that just as it will be clearing up for other signs in October when we will see only two planets – Uranus and Neptune, along with Chiron remaining retrograde, Venus your ruler will make one of its rare backwards sashays across the sky which will end just as the next Mercury retrograde cycle starts in November. So, you may have a longer time to process those past themes than other signs as this period extends on past your birthday season this year.

With ruler Venus presently in forward motion in your 12^th and with the Sun’s entry into your 11^th occuring just before Mercury moves retrograde, people from your past, past goals and places from your past are going to feature this month. As are those wounds from the past too. Especially around love and partnerships. What’s your clue to moving past them? Music and creativity. Venus in your 12^th opens up channels to higher love and inspiration. Hurts, wounds and sadness can be transformed by listening to music, dancing out to it or in the form of a creative project. Use any pain and above all, don’t run from it. Your past can be re-told and re-imagined to change your future. Before the Sun reaches your 11^th however, you are benefitting from some fabulous alignments it makes from your 10^th of career right across your entire money and work sectors. Closing that deal or setting off on that new career tangent is a distinct possibility but the news of this may take a while longer to reach you. The reason I am saying this is not only due to that retrograde weather – although it has a bearing. The new Moon in your 10^th is usually all about a new direction, dazzling people with your smarts and getting recognition for what you do. It’s one of those times in the year where we get to shine at what we do. And reap the rewards along with that. However, the new Moon in here this year which appears on the 13^th triggers a solar eclipse. And by now you should know eclipses conceal. The Sun will also oppose Pluto in your 4^th of home and security and trine Neptune in your 6^th of work at the same time. So, you may end up doing what you can and then playing the waiting game. Be patient if this happens and tell yourself if there are delays there is a reason which you may not know now, but discover later as the eclipse shadow moves off.

If you are left waiting for news relating to career matters, shift your focus to your social life when the Sun crosses on into your 11^th from the 22^nd. Those people from the past could be past friends or co-workers or you could find yourself back in some old haunts now and reviving the good times you enjoyed there in the past. Time to revive past connections if they have been on your mind recently. Reach out and back. You may find they have new resonance for you. Some of you may find old friends making contact with you. Be in the moment and when you are, let go of waiting or worrying about outcomes. Know you have done all you can and it is now out of your hands. Remember that no matter which house of our charts Mercury turns retrograde in, that the usual retrograde rules apply. And as this retrograde occurs in your social sector, it’s probably a good idea to re-confirm all arrangements or bookings before setting out. And allow extra time to get there too.

As we approach the end of the month we are going to see a total eclipse of the full Moon take place in your 5^th of romance, creativity, fun and pleasure. Retrograde Mars is also in this house in your chart now and the Sun will oppose this. Some of you may run into an old lover, perhaps rekindling the fire again. If so, please take things slowly with them. It’s that eclipse rule of something being hidden or concealed by it. Second time around love doesn’t mean you have to dive straight back in you know. You can insist on being ‘courted’ or wooed once more to give yourself (and them) time to see if it really can work this time around.

What you have been waiting for or what was covered up by the first eclipse may begin to appear by the month’s end when Venus makes a security-enhancing angle of change to Pluto in your 4^th. There’s a feeling here of something you set in motion now coming full circle and finding you ready to receive it. Both your rulers ancient and modern remain retrograde this month, Scorpio. But does this mean you are just spinning your wheels or that legendary mojo of yours is now missing? Hardly. For one thing, contemporary ruler Pluto just becomes more powerful when it retrograde phase handing you the capacity to bring about more alchemical change and increasing that aura of sexiness. Although we are now in major retrograde weather for the next few months and Mercury also turns retrograde on the 26^th of this month in your 10^th of career, Jupiter ends its retrograde cycle in your 1^st from the 10^th. Shift into forward motion again when it comes to travel plans (but please finalise these before the Mercury retro if possible), and initiate any new plans now. At the start of the month the Sun is in your 9^th house – which is Jupiter’s ruling house in your chart. The 5^th sees the Sun make an angle of expansion to Jupiter so it’s time to be ready to push the button once it heads direct again.

You also have a powerful eclipse happening in your 9^th on the 13^th. This occurs the day after the Sun in your 9^th opposes Pluto in your 3^rd. A journey or news could bring about a new beginning and this is closer than you think. The new Moon in your 9^th is usually about expanding your horizons via a leaning activity. It’s also about letting more people into your world and through them, experiencing more. This new Moon usually ushers in a period where you feel bolder, more confident, even lucky. And this one is no exception except of course, it triggers a solar eclipse and the Sun is in opposition to Pluto while trineing Neptune in your 5^th of creativity, romance and the house of where you get to shine. There’s an opportunity here but proceed with caution. For one thing, it may take a time to emerge. For another – it may not be what it first appears to be. Eclipses cover up so bear this in mind. Ask questions if you need to or adopt a ‘watch and wait’ approach to anything. New Moons are important but those that trigger any kind of eclipse even more so as they tell us there is a piece of the puzzle missing. So, with Jupiter direct again in your 1^st there’s an opportunity about to appear as the eclipse appears in Jupiter’s house in your chart. You don’t yet have the big picture.

This is a highly favourable time for romance however. You just need to ensure you are not kissing any frogs. You could attract something with whom you feel an incredible soul resonance and possibly someone who is also highly creative and intuitive. Just ensure that you keep your feet on the ground even if your heart is taking flight. There may be a tendency to project qualities on to your potential lover they simply do not have. Your own creativity is heightened now and if you are not engaged in a new love affair or are already settled, you may channel this into a new project or creative venture that doesn’t just have depth and meaning for you – but for a much wider audience. The 27^th which is the day after Mercury begins its retrograde cycle, we have an eclipsed full Moon in the Moon’s ruling 4^th. This also has the Sun opposing retrograde Mars also in your 4^th at present. When it comes to career or anything that impacts on your security – emotional and financial, take it that you do not have the big picture right now. Someone – the person at the top or the ‘head of the table’ may be withholding information or just not filling you in. Mercury retro is always about looking carefully at the details, backing up, revising, fact-checking more than usual, and I suggest you apply these rules diligently.
